About Your Account

I'm a new member. How do I download a white paper?

Find your white paper by choosing tags that most closely represents the content you are looking for and then click on the GO button in the tag bar at the top of any page. It is that simple. Alternatively, use the general search by clicking on the Search menu item.

Do I have to register to use WhitepapersDB.com?

Most areas of the site are open to both registered and anonymous users. However, you will need to register if you want to subscribe to newsletters or alerts, download certain white papers or obtain other valuable content.

Can I sign-in with my email address?

Yes.

Why do you need my personal details?

To provide you with the best and most useful content and services. We use the information for these general purposes:

  • To customize the advertising and content you see.
  • To determine how well each page performs based on aggregate user demographics and traffic patterns.
  • To fulfill your requests for certain products and services, such as sending out alerts or newsletters and enabling you to participate in polls, contests and forums.
  • To send you information about topics we think will be of interest to you. We only do this if you have agreed to receive such information.

Why do I need a username?

Usernames are used to identify you on the site. For example, when you register for an alert your alert will be tracked by your username. Other users see you as your user name.

What are the rules for usernames?

Your username can only contain letters and numbers and is limited to 16 characters. Usernames are not case-sensitive, but passwords are case-sensitive. We do not allow usernames that are offensive. If we consider your username inappropriate, we may withdraw it and require you to choose another one.

I see the error message, "Your address has already been taken" but this is my email address. Why is this happening?

You may have started a WhitepapersDB account on a previous visit -- which means your email address and password have already been established. To retrieve your password, click Forgot User Name or Password? and follow the instructions. You should then be able to sign in with the new credentials emailed to you.

Why can't I register?

You probably have cookies turned off in your browser. We use cookies to customize some areas of the site for members and collect statistical information -- please read our privacy policy for more information. If you do not want to turn on cookies for all sites, you can just turn them on for WhitepapersDB.com.

Can I set up two or more User Accounts under the same email address?

No. Our system requires each user to have a unique email address and password in order to search our database for your individually tailored information. For this reason, you may not register more than one account under the same email address.

What setting should I use for cookies?

In Internet Explorer, set the privacy level to Medium High, Medium or below. To do this, go to the Tools menu and select Internet Options. Click the Privacy tab and move the slider to set the level. Alternatively, if you only want to accept cookies from WhitepapersDB.com, click the Sites button. Enter http://www.WhitepapersDB.com/ in the Address box and click the Allow button.
