White Paper Abstract:
This paper summarizes that the Advanced Time Division Multiple Access (ATDMA) is a Data-over-Cable Service Interface Specifications (DOCSIS) 2.0 extension for upstream (US) capacity. It provides a larger US channel of up to 6.4 MHz at 5.12 Msym/sec and provides higher modulation schemes such as quadrature amplitude modulation 8 (8-QAM), 32-QAM, and 64-QAM. ATDMA also provides more physical layer robustness in the form of sixteen T-bytes of forward error correction (FEC), US burst interleaving, and a 24-tap equalizer.
