Secure Wireless Architectures for Federal Agencies

White Paper Abstract:

This document describes that the Cisco® Unified Wireless Architecture transparently integrates key controls and security technologies from both wired and wireless components. This creates a defense-in-depth security architecture-including policy-based security, attack mitigation, 802.1x user authentication and authorization, FIPS-validated 802.11i/WPAv2 using Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) for wireless data confidentiality and data integrity, fast secure roaming, and embedded wireless intrusion detection and prevention-in standards-based enterprise solutions, which provide agencies with long-term, cost-effective scalability and ease of deployment and the reliability that they have come to expect from their wired networks.
